Kazakhstan Day at China Mining 2025: A Milestone for Kazakhstan–China Cooperation

Tianjin, China — October 23, 2025.

For the first time, Kazakhstan Day was held at the China Mining Conference & Exhibition 2025, one of the world’s largest industry platforms. The session was organized with the support of the Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines, Aurora Group, Zijin Mining Group, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China, and the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with active participation from leading companies in the mining and geological sectors.

The event took place at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center, bringing together representatives of government bodies, mining corporations, and investors from Kazakhstan and China. The Kazakhstan Day agenda included a plenary session and a panel discussion focused on geology, exploration, and investment opportunities in Kazakhstan’s mining sector.

Opening Session

The plenary session featured welcome remarks by:

  • Kuanysh Amantay, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China,
  • Margulan Baibatyrov, Deputy Chairman of the Geology Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan,
  • Yu Haiyang, Vice General Director of the Department of Mining Rights Management, Ministry of Natural Resources of China, who attended the event and delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of deepening China–Kazakhstan cooperation in mining.
  • Ruslan Baimishev, President of the Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines, who noted that “the Chamber serves as the united voice of investors, promoting transparency and sustainable growth across Kazakhstan’s mining sector.”

 

Panel Discussion: Geology & Investment Prospects

The panel, moderated by Said Sultanov, focused on Kazakhstan’s mineral wealth and investment potential.

  • Dmitriy Betsal, Bai Tau Minerals LLPpresented the Besshoky Project, highlighting recent gold discoveries and geological progress.
  • Magomed Tsakayev, Muzbel Projectdiscussed the Taskora and Muzbel deposits and the growing exploration interest in the Balkhash region.
  • Ulan Nurkhanuly, Aurora Minerals Groupcovered Kazakhstan’s copper, gold, and iron potential, emphasizing integrated exploration and resource assessment.
  • Madina Kapenova and Yerden Janseitov, Aurora Groupreflected on the company’s 10-year track record in “Discover. Develop. Deliver. Aurora’s Journey Across a Decade.”

 

Strategic Partnership and MOU Signing

A key milestone of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines and the China Mining Association.
The agreement strengthens bilateral cooperation in geological research, mining investment, and sustainable resource development.

 

Closing Remarks

The event concluded on a note of partnership and optimism.
A representative of the Chinese side emphasized that “China and Kazakhstan share a long history of friendship — and today, our cooperation in mining becomes another bridge connecting our nations.”
