Today, September 23, Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapaev took part in a roundtable discussion organized by the Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines.
The participants discussed topical issues of the mining industry, the solution of which directly affects the attraction of foreign investment.
Thus, they discussed the upcoming changes in the tax legislation of Kazakhstan, prospects for the introduction of royalties for new licenses, export licenses. In addition, representatives of the industry talked about amendments to the Code “On Subsoil and Subsoil Use” in terms of uranium, on issues of financial support of liquidation, development of low-profit deposits, as well as conducting aerogeophysical surveys of Kazakhstan.
As a result of the discussion, the Chamber of Mines proposed to consider the creation of a comprehensive roadmap to address current problems and study successful international practices in the mining sector.
The meeting was attended by representatives of organizations and subsoil user companies JSC “National Geological Service”, NPP “Atameken”, JSC “Tau-Ken Samruk”, “Xcalibur Kazakhstan”, “Arras Minerals”, “Fortescue Kazakhstan”, “Rio Tinto Kazakhstan”, “Aurora Minerals Group” and others.
