The purpose of geological exploration on Kemirskaya Square is to identify industrially significant deposits of copper, gold and associated components, as well as rare metals within the area. Their subsequent development will contribute to the economic development of the region and the region as a whole. The Aurora Minerals Group conducted core drilling, with geological and geophysical support of drilling operations. Drilling operations were started on October 6, 2023, with the help of two drilling rigs by the private company Aurora Quest Services Limited.

The drilling team, local geologists and geophysicists lived in the village of Akbakai, located 50 km from the site itself. The projected drilling volume was 1,900 meters, and the drilling team successfully completed this task in less than a month.
Drilling was monitored by employees of the Aurora Minerals Group. Local geologists, after drilling wells on the ground, visited the drilling site daily, checking the core material for errors, as well as maintaining primary core documentation.
The main part of the geological support of drilling operations, namely geological documentation, sawing and core testing, was carried out in the city of Balkhash, after the core was transported from Akbakai settlement with the help of Aurora Quest Service LLP.
After reaching the geological task, the reclamation of disturbed lands was carried out at the drilling site, under the supervision of a district geologist, in accordance with Article 238 of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Also conforming to the standards, the mouth of each drilled well was covered with concrete and secured with a reference point, including some data about the well, such as: the name of the well, depth, angle of inclination and azimuth of drilling.
After receiving the core daily from the drilling team, the district geologist checked each drilling trip, measured the core yield, noted mechanical cracks, and also examined the core for the presence of ore mineralization.
Geophysical studies of wells were carried out by the private company Aurora Geophysics Limited, the complex of works included: measurement of inclinometry, gamma logging, PS, CS and VP. The geophysical team was also located in Akbakai village, and went to the work site after every 50 m drilled to measure the curvature of the well. At the request of customers, the angle of deflection of wells should not exceed 3 ° per 100 m. And the rest of the logging operations were carried out to achieve the design depth of the well.
The core was first carefully examined for the presence of mineralization, later detailed documentation was carried out, divided into different lithological differences and sampling intervals. After that, a core sawing line was applied and photo documentation was carried out. The final touch is the sawing of the core, followed by testing, and then sending all the samples to the laboratory for analysis.
The exploration work was carried out in accordance with the international quality control standards QA/QC and the Code on Subsoil and Subsoil Use of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
