As the COVID-19 restrictions are gradually being lifted on the territory of Kazakhstan, the team of Aurora Minerals Group is pleased to announce the start of the field season for geological exploration works. After all employees successfully passed the tests on COVID-19, our company has begun geophysical and drilling works, as well as initiated reconnaissance study trips to prospecting sites.

Aurora AG Limited, a geophysical subsidiary of Aurora Minerals Group, has launched a ground-based magnetic survey on a number of projects in Kostanay and Aktobe regions. A qualified team of geophysicists is exploring the area on foot with advanced Canadian magnetic exploration equipment GEM GSM-19W. These magnetometers allow conducting research in the continuous shooting mode, which in turn increases productivity, reduces the frequency of measurements, allowing to get a denser array of magnetic data.

NovaDrilling LLP, a subsidiary drilling company of Aurora Minerals Group, actively began the 2020 field season with drilling operations in Aktobe region. The results of the work in the form of core samples will be studied by AMG geologists and sent for further laboratory research.

Aurora Minerals Group, together with Aurora AG Limited, is also conducting a reconnaissance study trip to the territory of Zhambyl Oblast. The purpose of the study trip is to assess the technical and technological conditions for conducting field works and surveying. During the reconnaissance activities, the Aurora team has already studied the relief and geology of the site, assessed the technical and technological conditions for drilling operations and determined the location of the future field camp.

During this year, it is planned to conduct verification drilling at the site in order to confirm ore intersections of previously drilled wells and exploratory drilling works in order to assess ore occurrence at a depth according to areal surface geophysical works. Currently, Aurora AG Limited specialists are performing surveying works at the site, the results of which will give the site’s topographic justification for subsequent geological-prospecting works.

All employees of Aurora Minerals Group strictly comply with all sanitary and epidemiological requirements, and are equipped with all necessary protective equipment to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.
