Despite the fact that Kazakhstan companies have started registering new areas and investing in exploration, one of the challenges for the industry is attracting foreign investment in exploration. Meanwhile, investment attractiveness is not only about legislation but also about up-to-date geological and geophysical data and infrastructure. Successful experience in Australia, Canada, and other countries can also be used here.

"We think adopting successful world experience in geological subsoil exploration would be valuable. For example, Geoscience Australia has been actively engaged in mapping and infrastructure development and has covered the entire country with airborne geophysical surveys using advanced technology. Australia is three times the size of Kazakhstan in area. These studies are actively used worldwide for mineral and hydrocarbon exploration and most importantly for searching water, which is currently one of the strategic tasks in Kazakhstan," - Kaisar Kozhamuratov said.

He also mentioned the positive dynamics of the appearance of a number of foreign companies, both large and junior, that invest in geological exploration. These companies have tremendous experience in various mining jurisdictions and have recently established a new association of foreign investors to consolidate proposals based on global best practices.
