Teniz Resources

A large-scale project to explore for sedimentary-type copper covering an area of 2,077 km², located in the northern part of the Teniz–Chu–Sarysu copper belt, one of Kazakhstan’s key copper-bearing regions.

Teniz is characterized by large-scale copper anomalies, confirmed surface mineralization, and geological features similar to those of the Zhezkazgan system.

About the Project

Teniz is located in the northern part of the Teniz–Chu-Sarysu copper belt, a region recognized for its potential to host sediment-hosted copper deposits.

Teniz shares a number of key geological and structural characteristics with the Zhezkazgan copper system, including prospective host stratigraphy, permeable horizons, deep-seated structures, and the presence of reducing environments favorable for copper precipitation.

The project is located approximately 3 hours by paved road from Astana to the town of Atbasar, where the field office will be based (about 100 km north of the southern licence area and about 15 km south of the northern licence area). The southern licence area is a further 2.5 hours away via established dirt roads. The terrain consists mainly of open steppe, locally crossed by shallow streams, and seasonal access restrictions may occur during the spring period.

Unlike the extensively explored southern parts of the belt, the Teniz area has historically seen significantly less modern, systematic exploration.

Exploration within the project area has identified:

  • widespread Cu-in-soil anomalies and copper mineral occurrences;
  • a copper anomaly extending over an area of more than 75 × 30 km;
  • field-verified surface copper mineralization traced continuously for more than 10 km;
  • prospective copper-hosting stratigraphic horizons;
  • major structural features capable of controlling the migration and deposition of metal-bearing fluids.
