On February 21, 2020, the Mining Club Forum was held at the Novotel Almaty City Center in Almaty. The event was attended by more than 80 junior and service companies in exploration of solid minerals, heads and specialists of the largest mining enterprises of Kazakhstan, representatives of relevant state departments of Kazakhstan, independent experts and trade missions of foreign countries.

The aim of the event is to develop the market of junior companies and attract investments in the exploration industry of Kazakhstan. The participants discussed the logistics of junior companies, opportunities for attraction of financing, measures of state support for the development of the junior market, regulation and planning of exploration of solid minerals. Within the framework of the event, NMC Tau-Ken Samruk JSC presented its own program for financing of junior companies for exploration of solid minerals in our country.

Timur Odilov, Partner, representative of Haller Lomax: “We created Mining club and decided to hold its first meeting on a very hot topic of the day in order to demonstrate that national junior market exists, that in modern conditions it should be engaged in geological exploration and the replenishment of mineral resources base of our country. We decided to gather all interested parties to exchange opinions, teach and help to develop mining and geological companies, and attract investments.”

Said Sultanov, Partner, Aurora Minerals Group: “World statistics shows that over the past 70 years, 70% of gold deposits were discovered by junior companies. In the context of the current reduction of the number of large deposits in Kazakhstan, it is critically important to create a favorable environment / ecosystem for the development of the junior market, and ensure quantitative and qualitative growth of this sector of the economy, replenishing the country's mineral reserves with new deposits.”

Kanat Kudaibergen, Chairman of the Management Board of NMC Tau-Ken Samruk JSC: "We see potential in the development of the junior market. It is no secret that there is a problem in the availability of financing tools for small companies. As a national company, we are ready to support promising exploration projects. In particular, Tau-Ken Samruk is considering gold, copper or zinc deposits for a pilot project.”

Organizers of the event: law firm Haller Lomax, geological exploration company Aurora Minerals Group and National Mining Company Tau-Ken Samruk JSC, organizational partner - Lincoln Company.
