Nariman Omarov received a qualification in international law in 1998 from the Kainar University in Almaty. In 2015, Nariman received an Executive MBA from Nazarbayev University. From 2001 to 2005, Nariman worked in the civil service, being the chief expert of the Legal Department of the Tax Committee of the Ministry of Finance and then the Head of the Financial and Administrative Legislation Sector of the Legal Department of the Office of the Prime Minister. From 2005 to 2009, Nariman was a Senior Expert and then Group Director for Energy and Subsoil Use of the Consulting Company KazMunayGas Consulting (later transformed into Olympex Advisors).In 2010, Nariman joined as Director of the Legal Department the team of experts that launched the new International University in Astana, later transformed into Nazarbayev University. In 2017, Nariman successfully implemented a project to transform the Universitys supply chain management system, taking into account modern approaches in the field of Supply Chain Management. In 2019, Nariman joined the team of lawyers providing legal support for the international activities of the National Company "KazMunayGas". The main areas of Narimans practice at NC KMG were the creation of joint ventures with foreign partners, the conclusion of agreements on joint activities and the coordination of legal issues arising in connection with the sanctions regime. Since August 2022, Nariman has been the Chief Legal Counsel of Aurora Minerals Group.
