AMG and Zijin Expand Strategic Cooperation in Gold and Critical Minerals

AMG Ltd. (“AMG”) and Zijin Mining Group Northwest Geological Exploration Co., Ltd. (“Zijin”) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation in gold and critical minerals during Kazakhstan Day at the 28th China Mining Conference and Exhibition (2026 China Mining Conference and Exhibition) in Tianjin.

The new Memorandum marks a further step in the consistent development of cooperation between AMG and Zijin, which began with the signing of the parties’ first Memorandum in 2023, and expands their collaboration into the joint review and geological evaluation of prospective mineral projects in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

The partnership brings together Zijin’s global scale, extensive mining experience, advanced technologies and investment and technical capabilities with AMG’s exploration expertise, proprietary project portfolio, local infrastructure and in-depth knowledge of Kazakhstan’s geology. The complementary strengths of the parties provide a strong foundation for the systematic evaluation and further advancement of prospective gold and critical mineral projects.

Globmine Resources — First Priority Project for Joint Geological Evaluation

The first priority project under this new phase of cooperation is the Globmine Resources gold project in the Balkhash-Sayak region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, comprising four solid mineral exploration licences.

Exploration activities at the project are already actively underway during the current field season. As part of the cooperation, Zijin will have the opportunity to review the project’s current results and technical materials, participate in the joint geological and technical evaluation of the project, and contribute its international experience and technological expertise to assessing resource potential, identifying priority exploration targets and planning subsequent stages of exploration.

To coordinate the work, the parties intend to establish a joint working group comprising technical, investment and commercial specialists from AMG and Zijin. At the initial stage, the group will focus on the evaluation of Globmine Resources, review of the available geological and geophysical data, and preparation of a roadmap for further cooperation.

Subject to the results of the joint evaluation and a positive assessment of the project, the parties may consider potential investment and corporate structures for further cooperation, including the funding of subsequent exploration and development programmes. Subject to positive evaluation results and the relevant decisions being made, the cooperation may potentially extend across subsequent stages of the project lifecycle — from exploration and resource evaluation through feasibility studies, construction and commercial operations.

Beyond Globmine Resources, the Memorandum establishes a broader platform for considering new cooperation opportunities in gold and critical minerals across Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

Said Sultanov, Chief Executive Officer of AMG Ltd.:

“Globmine Resources reflects the substantial work undertaken by our team and our confidence in Kazakhstan’s geological potential. We are pleased that this perspective is shared by Zijin, a company with extensive international experience and strong technical expertise.

In our cooperation with Zijin, we have seen an openness to dialogue, respect for partners and a responsible approach to working together. These qualities are essential to building trust and a long-term partnership.

For AMG, project development goes hand in hand with responsible stewardship of the environment and consideration for local communities. I am confident that sharing experience and applying modern technologies will enable us to responsibly unlock Kazakhstan’s potential and create long-term value for the country.”
